Gatsby? What Gatsby?
I have yet to meet a person that is not freaking out over the new Great Gatsby movie. It doesn't come out for another few weeks but I already know I'll be obsessed with it. It's like the Les Miserables movie or #provoepicannouncement. I don't know if it'll be good but I know I'll think it's awesome.
I remember when I first read Gatsby my sophomore year of high school, I fell in love with the language. I mean, how could you not love:
"Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but that's not matter -- tomorrow we will run faser, stretch our arms further...And one fine morning -----"
Or what about:
"Everyone suspects himself of at least one of the cardinal virtues, and this is mine: I am one of hte few honest people that I have ever known."
I'm thinking a Gatsby party for the premiere. You in?
P.S. Check out this song from the soundtrack. Amazing.

ReplyDeleteI know I am so late on commenting on this, but YES! I LOVE The great gatsby. Saw it and loved it. I wanted to throw a big party but then my friends decided to do one, it is coming up. I think Leo was the perfect fit. I obviously read the book in high school so it was cool to see it come to life on the big screen years after reading it. I need to re-read it now!
